]]>If that is you, lets be friends. I like the way you do business….
But, instead of just accepting the fact that I’m not the cleanest lady around, I decided the year 2019 is going to be the start of a new me. A cleaner me. So, I made up a weekly cleaning schedule with cleaning for me to do each and everyday.
It just has 2 duties per day, 5 days a week, because who wants to clean the whole house on the weekend? Ain’t no momma got time for that.
In addition to the 2 duties, are 2 loads of laundry. Totally doable.
At the end of the calendar are 2 duties that can be done every/other week. These can be done on a Saturday or added to your duties on one of the other days of the week.
I just started implementing my daily cleaning duties, and so far, it has been a breeze. I have been crossing my duties off the list right away in the morning, and spending the rest of the day cleaning up every other mess my girls make. It’s wonderful.
I hope you benefit from this cleaning calendar, but if it isn’t something you are interested in implementing, I’m sure you have a friend that could, a friend like me.
You can print the cleaning calendar to place on your fridge, where it will haunt you everyday until you cross off your daily cleaning duties!

]]>We started by using the teapots I bought from a second-hand store (about 25 cents a piece) and had spray painted white. I blogged about the process here.
My wonderful sister-in-law, Meghan, runs a floral design business out of her home–just a short ride across the gravel road from the Little House–and she was willing to help us create these beautiful center pieces for the girls’ party!
So, we started by filling the tea pots with floral foam soaked in water to make placing the flowers and greens much easier! You can get the foam from amazon here.
We used various flowers and greens to create this one of a kind whimsical look!
Meghan purchased the eucalyptus leaves from our Local Hy-Vee store on special order–it comes in a bunch which is about 10 stems.
We also got some GORGEOUS one-of-a-kind flowers from a local flower farm! You have to check her out on Instagram! Holland Flower Farm! We used her flowers as the focal points in all four bouquets!
For filler flowers, or not-so-beautiful center flowers, we purchased bouquets from Walmart (only $4.99!!!)
Lastly, all of the other greens we used were either cut from bushes in our landscaping or weeds from the ditches (yep, there is water hemp in there!!!) My hubby wasn’t so sure about that since he spends all summer trying to kill that weed and I put it on the tables for a birthday party! Ha!
Anywho, as Meghan always says, when it comes to creating beautiful flowers it is ALL ABOUT THE GREENS! They truly make the beautiful flowers POP!
You can see the finished products below! We were so happy with how they turned out and they made wonderful take home gifts for family that helped out at the party!!

Let us know your thoughts on these one-of-a-kind center pieces!!!

]]>I decided to do tea for two because my girls are turning two and there’s two of them. I want it to be really elegant with a fall-themed color palette since it is in October.
My sister-in-law is going to create bouquets of flowers to go in teapots for the centerpieces of the table and serving table.
I went to my local thrift shop to look for teapots and teacups and unfortunately most of them had designs that didn’t go with my color palette for the party. I decided to paint them because they aren’t going to be used to pour out of or drink tea out of. My local thrift stop has a semi annual everything goes 75% off sale so I got my teapots all for $1 or less. I would highly recommend going to a Goodwill or thrift shop because the quality doesn’t have to be awesome when they’re going to be filled with flowers for decor anyway.
I decided to use a Rustoleum paint to spray paint them and you can get the same one here on Amazon in multiple colors. I just used white because my flower arrangements are going to have maroons, pinks and deep greens in them and I wanted those to stand out.

I took my teapots outside and place them on cardboard, shook the paint well and spray-painted it very carefully. Tip: do not start spraying directly on the teapot. I started the mist before I made contact with the teapot and kept doing streaks back and forth across it. It only took me one coat to get the pots looking like this and I think they turned out wonderfully!
